PowerTrack First Annual Transportation Club Meeting a Smashing Success!
PowerTrack recently hosted its inaugural transportation club meeting in Cleveland, Ohio.
The meeting gave shippers and carriers from across the region the opportunity to explore the industry’s top needs as well as efforts underway to improve the global transportation and supply chain network.
“The transportation industry is facing some tough challenges - capacity issues, driver shortages, and rising fuel prices continue to add stress to the supply chain”, said Kevin M. Armstrong, Director of Business Development for PowerTrack. “Cost control throughout the supply chain is key to meeting some of the challenges faced by the industry, and collaboration brings significant cost reductions.”
“PowerTrack recognizes the power of collaboration and sponsored the meeting to bring shippers and carriers together in a productive environment to discuss how trading partners can work together to solve supply chain issues – especially those that affect payment.”
Attendees also gained further insight into PowerTrack capabilities, especially in the areas of business intelligence, identifying payment discrepancies and financial reporting. Mike Bauer, Logistics Analyst for Royal Appliance gave a presentation highlighting how Royal has used the data analysis tools available in Power Track to streamline business operations.
“The business intelligence available in PowerTrack has been invaluable to us in getting the right products in the right distribution centers and accurately forecasting costs”, said Bauer. “It is helping us manage our business immensely and is having an affect on overall profitability. The custom built reports within PowerTrack are easy to design and run — we get the information that we need without having to tap into our own IT resources.”
"PowerTrack is way ahead of the pack when it comes to innovation within the freight payment industry”, said Steve Kling, Director of Supply Chain for Odom's Tennessee Pride. “The time spent talking with all of these cross functional groups — shippers and carriers together in one room strategizing — was invaluable. I Iook forward to the next event.”
